Mr Snookles Requests...

Check this out...found at a friend's place - the original five 78rpm disc set of the original release of Yma Sumac's "Voice of the Xtabay" Alas my efforts to restore this gem have been in vain, as the amount of surface noise is simply to great. The set is also missing one of the five disks, so it is perhaps a collecter's item rather than a piece of music to be enjoyed.

I do have a copy of this album which was uploaded to a music blog about 12 months ago. Alas the blogger in question, while no doubt beyond reproach in his intentions to share this musical wonder with the wider world, saw fit to upload it at 96 (yes 96) kbps.

So my request is...does anyone out there in the blogosphere have a high quality version of this album (and a certain blogger over in sunny Western Australia springs to mind), and if so how's about uploading it and dropping me a line in the comments with a link?

In the meantime here are some scans of the front and inside cover of "Voice of the Xtabay" to whet your appetite.
